Riccardo Balli’s Frankenstein, or The 8-Bit Prometheus (2018)

Riccardo Balli’s micro-music-inspired remix of Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein: a low-resolution séance that channels the spirit of corpse reviver Giovanni Aldini (1762-1834), said to have inspired The Modern Prometheus. Here, Aldini tells a compressed version of the original Frankenstein story, exposing its language to retro-gaming jargon and simplifying the plot to make it more like an arcade game. Bleeeeep!
